My First Drift Day is this Sat
So i started my project in Jan, and my first drift day is on the 9th here in colorado. ive never been drifting before so does anyone have any pointers for me?
im going to be taking an auto 94 sc300 , im going to bring a 50 - 75 - & 115 shot jets cuz i don't know witch i will need to keep it sideways. and i want to conserve as much nitrous as i can. i will only be bringing 20lbs of it other than that someone will be providing me with a pair of 16' wheels and tires to use and a helmet. but ive never been drifting before so im nervous about the idea only drifting i have ever done is the occasional 2nd gear drop getting on to the highway.

a manual transmission would be ideal if you're looking to drift, from what i understand it makes it perfectly possible to keep even a stock GE sideways. unless you have gobs of horsepower, it'll be difficult to keep the auto transmission in the power band and prevent it from shifting midslide. i'm sure others will chime in and add more, but good luck and have fun!

ok first off.... get that nitrous crap out of your car... the motor will be under enough stress as is. You will blow something up.
2nd, keep it in 2nd and use the weight of the car to your advantage. Sway her into a turn and counter steer while using the throttle to control your speed. If you want more angle turn INTO the apex of the turn, if you want less angle turn Away from the apex.
these cars have plenty of power to slide, Regardless of the Auto you can and Will be able to hold a drift if you have the speed and use the weight of the car like i said. Any one else who says otherwise is wrong.
Its easy, i used to drift an auto sc400 all day long

When you have never slide a car before jumping into an auto car that weights close to 4000lbs and attempting to drift it isn't going to be very easy.

There's nothing wrong with nitrous for drifting, plenty of people even as good as people in D1 use it to give underpowered cars a chance, dunno about using it on a button as opposed to a window switch though.
The automatic on the other hand, you might as well just not bother drifting.
