R&L Carriers was the shipping company used to ship my motor too. By far the crappiest company I have ever dealt with in my whole life. Total lack of communication and made me wait around for 5 hrs because they gave me a time slot of "we'll be there sometime between noon and 5pm." 5:30 comes around so i call them and they tell me "oh we'll be there tomorrow." Played this game for about a week, until it finally got delivered. Thank goodness the motor was ok when it arrived, but I would never purchase anything from anyone that uses this carrier ever again.

R & J is telling me that i have to file a claim with the importer.

how do i go about getting my money back as swiftly as possible?

the motor was paid for via paypal on my credit card.
if you paid with paypal you can file a dispute and paypal will mediate between both parties to resolve the issue, and usually paypal will freeze the sellers acct if there has been disputes filed on them before. it looks like you would get your money back in this case, and the person you paid is the person responsible for fixing the problem. hope this helps, ive been through this before.

Call paypal and tell them ur **** was damaged and it was returned (hope u have a tracking number)

I would also call ur credit card and have them charge back. Try going through paypal first. It works by paypal charging ur credit card then paying on youe behalf. Technically a credit card charge back hits paypal but at the end of the day you get your money back and thats the only thing that is important.

Damn at least you have your money back. I see that you live in FL, have you heard of a company called JDM of Miami? I got the sr20det from them back when i had my 240sx and it came in in pretty good condition. If you haven't got another one check them out since your local.

here's a pic of it:

R&L delivered my Aristo set and it came in good shape. The guy even helped me transfer it from the liftgate to my pickup which was not easy.

I'm not sure why you're even ordering JDM engines when you're in Florida where they're everywhere! What part of FL are you located in?

I would never purchase a used motor without physically seeing it and being able to inspect it and do compression test, etc.

PM me and I can lead you in the right direction on some JDM dealers in South Florida that stand behind their motors.

It sounds like I would be totally pissed. I hope you can resolve this issue withing a few days. I know how you feel when you anticiapte something to be delivered.... then BAMMMM... something slaps you in the face. Good luck with the dispute.
