Hello all, I have a 99 SC400 with 16x6.5 stock wheels. I need rear rotors and at least one caliper. I am considering going to the LS brakes at this time for the rears only. I'd like to do the fronts also but I believe that I will get the new wheels at that time. Does anyone think that having bigger rear brakes will cause any issues? I do not race it but I like a sporty ride... thanks
Thanks. Not a lot available on rear brakes. Any recommendations? Quality parts add up fast, hate to spend it all on stock parts. Looking at calipers, rotors, hardware kits, pads...
This is of no real help, but my shiny/newly rebuilt LS400 calipers showed up today. They are of epic perportions! The largest 4 pot calipers I've ever held in my hands, but then again I'm used to tinkertoy MR2's
for some reason i just bought the last pair aliga has.... i dont feel to good about spending $150 more on my car for some reason haha plus now i gotta buy rotors and pads!! ugh!
I use LS400 rotors (1995-2000). I agree, the LS400 BBK is fantastic. BTW, I have an extra set of LS400 front calipers with very good oem pads already installed, I'll let them go for $175 shipped. Just PM me if interested.
Go for Lexus OEM or Centric. There are tons of generic rotors or slotted performance rotors that are cut down in weight and thickness that can eventually crack or overheat and warp again.
