Reman LS400 Calipers
I am going to order a set of reman ls400 calipers for my 92 sc3 and have some questions. is the 89-94 year model the one I want to order? Also I noticed that there are single piston front and double piston front calipers for the same year cars. I know I need the 2 piston, but isnt there going to be hardware needed also? (like shims, etc...). I have found the reman units for the LS4 as cheap as $68 so I think this is going to be the next mod....
From what I remember you will need the 95+ LS4 calipers, the 89-94's are basically what the sc400's have which is a one piston design. Now the 89-94 will give you some added performance over your stock SC3 brakes but I believe that the one u want is the 95+ LS400 calipers, and all you should need is a few shims, you'll need to cut/modify some of your dust shield, and a set of LS4 rotors.

Rebuilt calipers are better than a worn out used calipers. lol. If the used ones are cheap, buy it along with a rebuild kit and rebuild them. Just take out the pistons and replace the rubber boots. Clean the inside, too. That's what rebuilding is.
