Ok guys so my sc300 is wasting a lot of gas. I dont know the average mpg but I'm only getting around 250 to 300 miles from my tank. What is an inexpensive thing I can do to get better gas mileage? Or something that isn't so pricy?
how many miles do you have? you could have a bad O2 sensor... if one or both goes bad you will waste a ton of fuel... i had the same thing happen on my supra... i had a bad O2 sensor and was only getting 200 MPT when i would usually get around 300 MPT

Try changing the dizzy cap and rotor, I went from getting 240-260 miles per tank to about 350 miles per tank after changing those. Plus they only cost about $20 for both from autozone
Ive been having this same problem. I would be lucky if i got 280 per tank. Idk if its because i have an exhaust leak or what or if i need a tune up or something. maybe new spark plugs??
I get pretty bad mileage too. My car gets about 15-16 MPG on the highway and in town. Will a Check Engine Light come on if you have a bad O2 Sensor?
you would think that yes if the O2 sensor is bad the check engine light would come on but ive seen it several times where the check engien light does not come on and the sensor was still bad
EDIT: also im in the 375-400 or better MPT range on my SC300
Fast take-offs, hard stops and turning too fast will also affect your gas mileage.
it's hard not to do that though. lol. but my car has had bad mileage when i got it. but i figure it's due for a tune up. changing spark plugs, hoorah!!! (no not really)
I changed one o2 sensor and it was on the exhaust manifold for cylinders 1-3. I haven't changed the other ones. Could that be the problem and the check engine light did come for that one. Should I change the 02 sensor for 4-6 on the exhaust manifold or the rest of them on the car? Oh and the car has 192,800 miles.

lol yeah he didnt really do that one well huh... distributor cap (dizzy) and rotor... thats where all your spark plug wires plug into... if your looking at your motor its sitting on the left side of the motor.
