Hey guys my car wont pass smog so they told me to swap the plugs and wires as well as the distributor. Ive not done this job on the sc300 before so Ive herd you have to remove the throttle body as well as the intake manifold? Any info, suggestions, links on how to do it your self would be great! Ive already got the plugs and wires so I just need some guidence here. Ive herd this job can take up to 4 hours!? any info would be appreciated.. Thanks!
it's not that hard, if you follow the DIY it's pretty easy. If you tools are pretty limited or this is your first time working on cars. It could pretty be pretty tough but it's still doable.
Ive worked on cars b4 but never under the hood of the sc300 theres just allot in the way it looks to access the plugs so i wanted to check if there was anypost or"walk throughs" and I found one thanks to TABAKA ^^^ I printed out the guideline so now its time to work. Hopefully Ill be able to do it within 2 hours on sat. It's about time I get this 5-speed on the street Ive already had her repainted and thru on some 18' BOSS black chrome 6 spokes.. as you can imagine you know why I want this to pass smog so I am hoping after I change the PLugs wires air/fuel filter and distributor cap I should pass with flying colors.. However if I fail its gotta be the O2 sensor or the cat =? which is not a cheap fix to my smog problem
I think it was the ignition timing the last part of the test... I've been told i can just use "sea foam" to clean out the fuel system and it will pass but I am almost certain the plugs havent been changed in 100k miles so i know that will help pass when I change them out tomorrow
