Ignition problems

K well I just got done putting my r154 in my sc
Drives good and everything but when I take my key out of the ignition
My car stays running and I have to disconnect my battery to kill my car
Car doesn't start unless I put key in igniton, doesn't just start with battery Hooked up
Need ideas of what it could be
Disconnecting my battery isn't the solution I'm wanting
Lmk if you can help
