Default Smart Access Key

Hi, my wife is looking at getting a 2010 IS250. With the SmartAccess key how long does the battery generally last before it needs to be replaced. We were talking to one salesman who didn't seem knowledgeable on the IS tell us that the battery needs to be replaced every 6 months. Also if the battery dies while you are out and about can you still start the IS?

2-3 years on average.... yes you still can start the IS... just place the smart key as close as possible to the start button then press it

Yeah it should last 3 years. I recommend buying some extra battery and store one or two in the car and some at home. I got a 6 pack for like 5 bucks.

That way you can use your key to get into the car and replace the battery yourself.
