Default SC330 article

I found an article saying that the SC330 will be out by oct or nov. Thats pretty damn close. You guys think it might somewhat resemble the car from minority report? I think it might in some ways even those it was kinda ugly and you really couldnt tell which was the front but overall it seemed like a nice car IMO. It would be one unique car though compared to the rest of the cars out there. You'l be able to recognize it from miles away. I dont know if that could be a good or bad thing though. If Lexus wants to be different than that would be a good way to go.

thats the link if u wanna read there paragraph on it

If u click the thing that says something about SUV's its got a little article about the new GX and some pictures of the new benz maybach which is supposed to be selling for over a cool 800G's. I saw some pictures of the inside and its fit for a king. I dont know if the final version will actually sell for 800,000 or have all the things like a twin turbo V12. If it does man this would be one bad *** car

Lexus is seriously considering an all-wheel drive option on all models of their cars.
Well it's about damn time!

Their is no way that the SC330 is going to be on a new platform. It's simply going to be a 3.3L V6 instead of a 4.3L V8.

They should at least make the base model SC330 a 5-speed manual non-retractable hardtop. It's common sense, some people don't want all the gadgets. Some people just want the Sports Coupe.

what i have been hearing is that the V6 cars will get a 3.3L V6 and be named accordingly.....but the sc300 and gs300 will keep the 2jz inline 6 3.0l.......and i have heard the new sc300 for 2003 will be a hard top version of the sc430........Jeff

This Oct or Nov? That's VERY HARD to believe. All other sources I've been reading says it's a 2004 model, and release is scheduled for NEXT YEAR.
I mean, the G35 coupe is going to be out this Oct. & Nov. How could we not have seen a demo or some production pix of the SC330 by now if it's going to be out in just 2-3 months?

I'm willing to bet my SC that it won't come out in oct/nov...

I totally agree. If Lexus was going to come out with a car in oct/nov they would have started to advertise it a little bit. I remember when the SC430 was coming out I got like 3 or 4 books from Lexus about the SC430 and this was about 6 or 7 months prior to its release. I would think they would hype it up a little bit just to get people excited into buying it. If they keep it a secret then how will anyone know not to go out a buy a different car. No one will ever know untill they go to the dealership and see it sitting there. That's just crazy. If you want it to sell you have to let it be known. I also agree that a Sports Coupe should at least have a option for a non convertible since it is a coupe. Making it a hardtop convertible doesnt always make it better. Some people want just a coupe without all the moving which I'm sure will break at some point. I read some people having problems with their hardtop on their SC430 in their forum. Just like the soarers in japan. They were loaded with all kinds of fancy stuff like the 3D display and EMV and reverse cam. That stuff is great but its not gonna last as long as the analog display and regular cd player. The more complicated you make it the less reliable it will be. Its just common sense. I'd rather buy a SC330 for its reliabilty like my 400 has given me. The only thing that has broken so far is the CD player which still plays any CD but sometimes gives and error message. After 2 accidents the car is in perfect shape with no problems at all. After all it cant be a coupe if you have the top down. It would have to be a SHCC(Sports Hardtop Convertible Coupe)330. Anyways I'm sure it will be a great car no matter what. Its a Lexus, lets not forget that.

The first thing I did when I heard about the new SC300 (?330?) was I called my lexus dealer to see if they could tell me something about it. Well, the guy said that he doesnt know anything yet, and that he hasn't even heard about the new SC. That seems very hard to believe because if Motor Trend is already writting about it then how could someone who works at a Lexus dealership not know anything. Maybe they are not allowed to say anything yet???? Guess we will just have to wait and see.

Most of them just really don't know. Toyota/ Lexus corporate keeps them(salespeople) in the dark so that they don't give out information on future models which would hurt sales of current models. The few(in comparison) salespeople that do know things are people that seek out the information themselves.

No offense, but dealerships consists of mostly idiots. The salesmen don't know CRAP!

Half the time, they are picked off the street and are trained to SELL ANYTHING. 9 out of 10 times I visit a dealership, I know more about their own cars than they do.

Mags like Motor Trend will almost always have prior news than a dealership do. The manufactures use them to leak news out and promote and advertise. Dealership is just a retail place for them to sell the cars and maintenance.

Guys, we had a ClubLexus member verify LAST YEAR, that the SC 330 was coming. I've been saying it for awhile now too.

I read a while back the SC 330 was to be a fixed hardtop and not a convertible.
I speculate it will be a new car, not a SC 430 with a 330 engine.

I hope so
