For 93 SC400, code 21 is left Main O2 sensor, code 28 is right Main O2 sensor.
This is not the sub-O2 sensor.

How did you get the code 28? Can you replace the O2 sensor yourself? Rememeber Main O2 is different from sub-O2 (different parts number, and different in cost also) Make sure to check if it the right main sensor. If you have the money replace both (left and right). When one goes the other soon follow. I been told the sub-O2 rarely fail.

Thanks for the info guys. VQT I got my code 28 from shorting the same terminals used to check the timing on the diagnostics thing with the key turned to on.

How can you stick something in the same terminal? If you don't have the manual, call Steve Ganz and order a set from him.

Above the driver left knee there a round thing with a cap on. The name of that is DLC2. Open the cap, inside the cap should have the name of each terminal of the DLC2. uses a small paper clip, bend it out and stick the (short) paper clip heads to terminal TE2 and E1. Turn on the ignition and count number of time the engine light flashes. If it flashes two time then stop a second then flash eight times then you have code 28.

Good Luck

Exactly thats what I did but I did it the easy way by using the diagnostics in the engine bay and I did not short the same terminals. I just looked at my hood and read the directions for checking timing. The same terminals that you short for checking timing can be used to check engine codes too.
