I wanted an LS3...boo!!

But no, nothing internal. Plans as of now will be simple with H/C swap, Fast intake, 3'' straights with an X or H pipe, and a tune. Since its a street/track toy and not daily driven, I will not be using cats or mufflers, I will have some p-o'ed neighbors, but thats ok.

But primary goal after its street ready, will be paint. Highly considering a satin finish, but still not sure cause I have seem some other SC's here on CL with fairly unique colors that have caught my attention.

LOL...the LS3 is becoming somewhat of a money pit...after S/C, cams, headers, and possible head job I think I'm borderlining ghetto fabulous with the cost of the engine vs the cost of the car....but ehh

why would you not be using mufflers at least? unless you have internals and/or forced induction having a open pipe doesnt necessarily make "more" power...if anything you'll be losing torque...

Might want to consider having cutout's if you want the shortest pipe+noise maker...not to mention it'll shoot flames

I cant say much, Im at half the cost of my car right now with just the swap and mounts.

Well Im not using mufflers simply cause I want noise. The loss of TQ wont bother me for long, cause once paint is on the car, it will be going f/i shortly after...plus being in Texas, a turbocharger counts as a muffler so its gives me a chance to put money elsewhere for the time being.

"....plus being in Texas, a turbocharger counts as a muffler..."

everywhere except CA...

are you planning to have the exhaust dump before or after the axles? (like a hot rod?)

So glad I dont live in CA!

Exhaust will go all the way to the rear bumper, but not sure what tips I will go with. I have considered quad exhaust tips side-by-side in stock location (if that makes sense), but then I have also considered working in some IS-F tips..but still not sure.

Well I was going to do a video, but either my battery is more dead than I thought, or my starter took a crap!!??

But these will have to do for now:

Excuse the pic quality, its still 87*+ in my garage...fail

But the engine bay is "almost" finished. I still have some things Im going to rearrange, the intake is simply a mock up to give a "completed" look, still have a couple grounds and the DD boxed to hook up, and going to move the FPR tomorrow when I go to check out the starter.

All in all, Im still planing some more cleaning to give the factory appearance (if that can even be achieved), and I have some other things planned for some of the wires under the hood. A/C lines will be taken care of as soon as the car is ready for the street, but the a/c is wired in.

Some of the engine bay is still half-way, so again excuse some of the messes, its not finished yet. ABS remains, factory fuse box remains and is functional, PS hoses will be taken care of soon, ODB2 diagnostic port will be wired in soon, and a few other things...but who knows how long it will take me.

Look at all that space in the engine bay!! It's gonna be so much easier to work on the car after this swap. Good work!

Thanks guys, trying to make it as clean as possible. And yes with the exception of the radiator hoses, I still have room to stand infront of the engine between the radiator. Spark plugs and wires are easy to access, oil filter is in an easy area to reach. Only snag I have hit so far, is the starter is in a bit of a tight spot, but still fairly easy to access.

If I can get the starter out tonight, might post pics of the rebuild just to add some more info/eyecandy. Going to start taking out the drivers side interior parts to prep for the clutch pedal/master cylinder.

No s/c for me..either all motor, or turbo. Turbo is already in the plans for later on, but it will sit where the battery is, but the battery isnt moving until then. Im so sick of messing with wires and what not, but s/c just dont do it for me...except the Magnacharger, which will not fit unless I modify the firewall.
