Would 350K miles turn you away from buying a 99' SC3 for cheap?

for me i judge cars as i would girls, by its the body, if it clears up well, i get it, if its rusty, dented, wrinkled up sheet metal then i dont
miles don't mean crap if car has been taken care of,

The car doesnt look too bad but I dont think it would be wise to pay more than say $2500. or so.
Make him an offer and sit on it ---i can guarantee he isnt being flooded with offers on this one.
The typical consumer wouldnt touch this with a ten foot pole.
Most people dont know how well made these cars were and they think it is well over the hill at this point.

For the right price I would get it. Mileage is only one factor in the condition of a car. On a newer car with that many miles they have to be almost all highway miles where an older could have the same mileage but they were accumulated by city driving. A car with a ton of highway miles can still have fewer hours on the engine than a low mileage car that sat in traffic a few hours a day.
Also, everything on the car is still newer than say a 92 or 93 model. Electronics degrade over time with or without use. The car would still need a thorough going through but to write it off just because of the mileage may be short sighted.

i bought the car for 3K, but after all the taxes and title BS it came out to $3,600 (we have to pay 10% sales tax on cars here)...
I think you might actually change your mind if you saw the car. Its in a lot better shape than you're probably thinking. I'm actually going to take some pictures here shortly, and ill let you be the judge. The car runs too well to swap the motor out. If there is no reason to swap the motor, i'm not going to!
Lots and lots of miles, but it didn't get there without some proper maintainence.
I agree with a lot of what you said. Its not just the mileage that is a bearing factor of purchasing a car. If someone took care of a car with 300K and someone changed the oil in a car with 100K every 15K miles, I would choose the 300K any day. I constatly see threads about cars breaking down (throwing rods, sludge build up) with cars with MUCH less than 300K, all I can say is i'd rather have my sweet 99' with 300K
