Im currently driving a '99 VW Passat with 121000 miles, needless to say its starting to require some attention. So im looking at a '98 Lexus GS400 with 179500 miles i was just curious if you guys thought this was too many miles, i know the guy kept up with maintinence and theyre almost all highway miles, i was just wondering if you think its just too many miles

 

Is that the car in the classifieds thats 9k? I think you could spend another 2k and get a car with a LOT less miles......Miles on these cars aren't a big deal but thats still a LOT of miles

 

It will be due for a 2nd timing belt change soon! I agree with the previous post. 12-13k gets you a car with a lot less miles!

 

that's true good luck with the buy if you decide to get it or good luck finding one with less miles!

 

That is alot of miles. Granted it should be fine but you will have a major maintenance coming up that will be well over $1k, so maybe you would be better off looking for one in the 12 to 13k range with half as many miles. Just my .02

 

Definitely too many miles.
