my battery was dead. i just got this sc300 92. so i replaced it with a 1216 button cell battery. but it doesn't seem to work. is there something i need to do inorder to get the car to recognize the unlock button on the key?

maybe the remote is just non functional in the key. such is life of buying a used car.

Didn't know that either.. my car only came with two "stick keys" as i like to call them haha. Never had the luxury of having the electronic key. I want to get one made though.

There is button near the trunk release to enable/disable the remote alarm. I found this in the OFF position when I bought my daughters car.

THANK YOU SO MUCH for that tidbit...I obviously (inadvertently) moved the switch to "off" a few weeks ago when I was messing around down there and my keyless hasn't worked since. I didn't even know the switch was there until I read your post, went out and flipped it, and it works again....

The only thing I have to offer is an a/c compressor that needs rebuilding...not sure if anyone wants it for cost of shipping only, but I will post it... =)
