TT head swap ?
i'm pretty sure this has been cover many times but i couldn't find the right answer i'm looking for. so a buddy of mines is gonna let me have his 2jzgte head for free so i figure i might put it on my n/a block..i know there's a thread about it on supra forums but what i wanna know is what exact/complete parts do i need to get this swap done besides turbo related stuff?
here's what i know so far that is needed:
complete tt head (cams, intake mani, injectors, etc.)
tt oil pump
several sensors?
will probably go aem ems
thermostat housing
tt ignitor
coilpacks
tt engine harness or can i modify the n/a to work?
usdm heater hose
usdm oil cooler..is this necessary?
lmk what i'm messing....

Water pump is different, you will need the Upper radiator pipe.
Thermostat and housing is the same.
Modify the Na harness and make it work.
Upper radio hose.
Aftermarket oil cooler.

Well some people do it for the intake manifold and Intercooler routing , i think it's worth it if you can do it yourself and you can get the parts for Free or great deal.
I like them both..
I like them both..
So that's when AEM is needed.
Oh yeah the ugly A$$ distributor lol, i am so glad i didn't have to worry about that thing.

^^ right.. messing with the crank and cam sensors was so much more fun than using the poor ol distributor... haha you know im playing i would ditch the dizzy in a second but it is reliable!!
Ali some people don't care about the way their engine bay look, so the distributor doesn't bother them they just use a screen on the front of the Turbo which i don't like .
I like the 4" or 5" pipe in front and Filter on it lol , that's just me like the clean look.
I will keep pushing you till we delete that thing lol, and yeah it's been good to you but it has to go haha.

hopefully the harness isn't as hard as some people say to modify and as for the oil cooler, is it really needed? since the ge head don't have a oil cooler can i run w/o a oil on the gte head or is it required?
+1 save yourself alot of money and time and go vvti coilpacks with a dh61 or ds62 ignitor. 61 is from the vvti 2jzge and the 62 is off a camry both do the exact same thing (3 channel wasted spark ignitors). the best thing is they are much cheaper than a TT setup and the coilpacks are more reliable + less wires to run.
with the TT coils + aem you will need a DLI or ignition amplifier.
with the vvti coils + aem you are already done,

I maybe going this route since im getting a knock. I really cant afford a gte block right now so would i be able to basically put the gte head on the ge block and call it a day? I basically have all the gte parts. Would i even need to modify my harness? OR would it be recommended to keep the block and put in new bearings and a used crank?
