Nope just swap your block and oil pan, remove the hex stud on the driver side of the block so you can screw the little pipe for the coolant line that goes to the oil cooler.
Swap the oil pump, if you are hearing a knock i would replace the oil pump just to be on the safe side, and get the head cleaned up , because if you spun a bearing or threw a rod you will most likely have metal shaving in your oil and oil pump.

So youre saying swap to the ge block is my best solution?

my knock is very minor between 2-3k rpm with no load. When im driving i dont hear anything. Oil pressure light hasnt come on yet and it doesnt seem to get any worse but i have to prepare for the worse. When i unplug the coil from cylinder #3 the sound basically disappears. According to many people thats basically a spun bearing or rod knock.

Yes GE block will be your best bet it's cheaper, and work just like the gte .This is why i stay away from gte motors.
it will cost you alot of money trying to rebuild it to stock cut your losses short and get a clean ge block.
I was going to do this to my car but decided to keep it na-t for now maybe next i will do this conversion who knows..

nah you should keep it na-t man!!

to soarer13oy don't bother wasting you money on another gte block, find a clean ge block and use that instead, enjoy the added compression bump from the n/a pistons and the loss of oil squirters (save your oil for things that actually need them, you know to keep them from knocking).

I think it is worth pointing out that if you buy used parts, a ge bottom end is not much more likely to be good than a gte. Also don't forget that since you are running twins you will have to figure something out regarding the oil feeds. I think no matter what you buy, you should hear it run if possible. If you have a very minor knock and your oil is clean, I would pull what you have apart and put new bearings in it.

Thanks guys. What ive planned was to get rid of the twins and go single but i have a little saving to do. I may be tearing up the gte block and have some check it to see if its cheaper to rebuild.

soarer13oy we must be in the same exact boat my #6 is knocking. im going to swap all my parts from the gte block to my GE block (rods and piston), replacing all bearings main and rod. all arp studs and TT head gasket and all new STD piston rings. hopfully that will work for me oh and also oil pump

I would keep the ge rods and pistons in the ge block and take it as an opportunity to rid yourself forever of the stock GTE compression ratio.

Yeah thats what im planning to do as well. Only thing i have an issue with is the oil lines for the stock twins. If i can find the funds il probably go single and ditch the twins. I just dont have funds right now so i want to do whats going to be cheaper.

I wonder how he go the oil lines to work on his twins. Does the ge block have the oil holes on the block where you can basically take off the bolts? Im sorry for the dumb question, but i never really paid attention to the difference between the two blocks until now.
