So while the car has been sitting in the paint shop all summer, a friend of mine hooked me up with a barely used set of 6 piston 355mm Rotora Big Brake kit during my birthday last month.

I have been using the TT BBK setup for the past 60,000 miles and they have been performing flawlessly for my needs so BBKs isnt a real priority for me, especially for how much big brake kits that I wanted cost. But, with a culmination of my friend giving me a good deal, me wanting something different when getting the car out of the paints shop, me always wanting the more aggressive look of an aftermarket BBK setup, I pulled the trigger!

Blue does not match with the pearl red paint job of my car so I disassembled it to prep and paint it. Gold goes well with red much better.

The main bolts were a pain to break loose. The 3/8" impact ratchet wouldn't work so I had to bust out 1/2" impact wrench

using ScotchBrite to scuff the original finish so that new finish could properly adhere

For those, that have not seen "JDM" Raindbow chrome stickers, it looks like regular chrome most of the time and changes color at certain light angles.

Yes this this a work in progress!

Prepping the calipers is taking alot longer than I thought. When I took it apart, brake fluid got allover the place and melted the original finish to a rubbery finish and those areas has to be sanded down to the metal

It's better that it's down to the bare metal. Screw that paint on paint on primer noise.
