Default Help me Finish my project

So basically my summer project was to rebuild a sc300 that I found. Wanted to get everything finished before posting anything but ive run into some problems and some input would be greatly appreciated.
Alright first, I had to pull the motor and replaced it with one from an n/a supra. Ended up using the supra's ecu so its starting now BUT the car is throwing out white smoke and idles weird. By idling weird i mean that when starting the car revs way high then drop real low and dies if u dont give her a lil bit of gas. Also, if i press the gas pedal down there is a little bit of lag before the the car revs.
Any input would be great

thanks
Brian

Try checking for ecu codes.

Have you tried bypassing the Fuel ECU by placing a jumper wire on terminals B+ and Fp at the diagnostic port under the hood. My car was stalling/smoking at idle. I had to apply throttle just to keep the engine running. After placing the jumper it ran/idled fine. This technique allowed me to isolate the problem as being a malfunctioning Fuel ECU.
