I have checked the fuse box and there is electricity in the fuse, but there is no electricity in the cable to the tail light???.....what the F#$%^&????????
i can't drive my car at night for this?!!!!! i seriously need help!!!
So is there a relay?...if so where?....cuz i am about to strip the whole cable to see if I find a cut some where!!!...
There's voltage going to the fuse, is there voltage coming out of the fuse? Check your grounds. Has it done this ever since or just recently? If recently, check anything that you have done that may cause the problem.
there is voltage in the fuse. but i think the cable is red with a black stripe...so i tested and there is electricity there (the one that goes to the tail light)...but the cable doesn't have electricity in the connector for the tail light (trunk connector)
I am having the same exact problem. The fuse is good but still no tail lights. Everything else is working fine. Need some input guys, can't drive our cars like this..
I had the exact same problem a few months ago. You need to check the relay near the kick panel fuse box. I used a relay I had from an old HID relay cable to fix it.
So I am going to have to get a new relay? Which one is it? A picture would help.
I'm not sure on which relay it was. I had a few extra hid relays laying around so I replaced a few hoping one would do the job. I wasn't gonna troubleshoot to find the right one b/c I had this problem for a while and I was just glad to have my lights working again.
no need to replace the relay, just see if when you turn in to the first position on the *** for your lights the small light bulb in ur head lights turns on, if it doesn't then it's the relay, but if it does, then that means it's the cable that comes from the fuse in to the tailights.
this is how you fix it.
right way.
take off the fuse box and rout the color cable that goes in to the fuse ( I think it's green and white...i'll double check and post tomorrow) then take the entire cable out and replace with a new cable.\
not so right but it will work.
since there is no electricity in the cable going to the tailights. measure the new cable and rout it from the tail lights in to the fuse box, tuck it in really nice with the other cables in the harness. and then just with the pealed end of the cable wrap it around the fuse, of course take the fuse off before you do this, then make sure it's nice and flat otherwise the fuse wont go in to the box. put the fuse in to the box and voila.
this is what I did to make sure it worked first and then i took all the time to take the fuse box off (wich is a pain in the butt).
but in any way this is the way your tail light will work again.
and I must say that i am almost 90% that there is no relay for the tail lights only the headlights.
