well thought i would add to the collection and make one of my progress. anyways i received the motor about week ago but just picked it up a few days ago from my old job since they have a forklift there
here's what i got:
here's some of the goodies i also got:
i finished the wiring harness after hours of agony and lots water(damn Texas heat) and am now getting hoses and putting them on and hopefully today i can start and maybe get everything disconnected off the 2jz and get the motor ready to come out
Looks like its going to be fun. Alot of TX members popping up these days, so we all know what the heat feels like. Good luck with the swap, keep us posted.
well got the motor out but got covered in oil in the process forgot about the tranny fluid
twill be sorting out all this tomorrow :
bolted up my 2j alternator on my 1j since its new. put in new thermostat as well. will replace throwout bearing as well tomorrow and hopefully get the tranny bolted to the 1j and get ready to drop her on in.
will be using lots of this to get that engine bay clean though for sure:
quick question. so will my speed sensor match up with the wires on my 1jz harness? how or what did you other guys do to solve this problem thanks
OK ignore that dumass question i was just getting frustrated with other things and moved on but i ended up getting the starter plugged and good to go
one thing i do need help on is how get the 2j alternator to work on my 1j cause not all of the wires match up? anyone have ideas or what have some of yall done
anyone give advice on wiring in the 2j alternator cause not all of the wires match up
I haven't done a swap, just been taking notes. not sure if it'll help but it was something i written down
-Swap Alternators (use USDM GE)...unless your swap comes with the alternator harness which is highly unlikely.
-Use the body plug for the alternator, wrap the one on the engine harness with electrical tape and tie it out of the way
