Just want to tell you all I just got this kit installed and it did wonders to my ride quality. The adhesion and connection to the road is night and day with the new bushings. The old ones literally were gone. 2 Thumbs up for the kit and easy install by my mechanic.

What it did for my ride:

1. Eliminated wheel hopping and shutter.
2. Increased adhesion and connection with road
3. Eliminated the famous CLUNK/Rattle sound going medium speed over bumps and dips.
4. Eliminated the unnecessary wheel arching when stopping and reversing.
5. Increased stability at all speeds
6. Increased camber correction which also made my wheels flush so thats a plus!

Negatives:

1. You will FEEL the road more
2. Alignment is needed after install!

Hope this helps some of you that are still fencing sides about replacing these little bastards that destroy the ride quality.

Read somewhere that another downside is that they dont stay lubed very long, and you have to re-lube them about every year. Is that true?
Btw I've been meaning to pick these up forever, but I think I'll wait till I get my suspension done and do it all at once.

 

Depends on the amount of lube they use. I heard that too so just be sure and put A LOT of lubrication. If you don't trust the lube Prothane provides use something that you KNOW or have researched that won't dry up (Technically this lube is water proof and resilient to drying up) but who knows lol. So far so good for me and I drove in the desert for 500 miles so far. No problems. What it comes down to is if you lube it right or not.

 

i needa get off my lazy *** and do this. the ball joints are such a pita though..... did you do it yourself?

 

I left all of the ball-joints assembled when I did mine a couple of weeks ago. I just had the spindle and control arms on the ground hanging from the tie rod. I only did the lowers with prothane, but I don't think it would have been a problem to get the uppers, as well.

 

I'll buy a set soon and lets do it LOL, gonna be a long day.

 

My mechanic put Zirk fittings on before installing which should make lubing easy.

I wonder how these compare to TM Engineering bushings? Thats what I did all of mine with and its night and day. Remember when you think you are almost done burning them out, keep burning! They are a pain to do, but the difference is amazing. Thats a very cheap price for all of them for the front.

 

Ha, That's what I was thinking too. How can you possible put a fitting to the inner sleeve

It seems to me this may not offer much improvement; you're still gonna need lube on the inner sleeve area, AND, most shops aren't set up with anything more than the regular grease for their guns, so .... what's the efficacy of the wrong kind of grease going to be with these poly bushings?

IDK, maybe it'll be fine just the same, just thought I'd throw in some considerations that came to mind.

 

Thank God I found a shop here in socal that can do it for $160 including the alignment!

^^^ where is this? I did my lower passenger side and that made me decide to not do the rest my self. I still need to do the upper and and driver side control arms. Alignment is a plus!
