Very well put!!! i would have to agree wit this guy, you cannot compare the SR to a 1J.

omg this thread blows.

okay. sr20det. light, abrasive, sporty, small capacity, boost kicks in early and hits hard. and does that over 4 cylinders.. as a result it sounds like an angry truck on steroids.

1jzgte... larger capacity, different curvier powerband, a lot more smooth to drive.. and spreads it's capacity over 6 cylinders, it sounds like a mad boxer that's sedated... like... it WANTS to scream... but it doesn't feel the need to..


you take the SR and put it into a sub 1tonne S13... it's a snappy responsive drive.

you put the 1J into a car that weighs close to 1.5 times that amount... you have a sophisticated drive.. but - without suspension modifications, it will not be as spirited as your S13. nor as exciting..

that said, the S13 hasn't got half the features of the Z30..

to compare the two - is .. stupid... sorry haha

a better comparison for the Z30 would be perhaps the300zx 350Z? or the nissan leopard?

a fair comparison to S13 would probably be the toyota corolla AE111 sprinter??

but yeah - two totally different cars

as for the RB... again - no comparison... nissan feels like it goes harder... but the toyota is a sleeping giant.

my advice, get both cars, keep both cars...

that's why i still keep my cefiro

so now i have an RB20DE+T cefiro... and a 1jzgte Soarer
