hello all, i have a 1992 SC and no owners Manuel. can anyone tell me in the upper left hand corner of the instrument dash there is a symbol that looks like a crown?anyone know what that means?

 

Your car doesnt have an owner named Manuel?...or you dont have the owners MANUAL?

 

IIRC, that's the radiator symbol; means your coolant is low.

Sure it isn't the roundhouse symbol which is the alternator?

 

I have a 1992 Lexus SC400. The speedometer red LED is out. There appears to be an additional light out in the upper left corner near the tach. How should I proceed to buy the necessary parts and how to get them installed. I live in Boston, MA. Thanks.

 

Welcome to CL. What we usually do with our clusters is send them in to Jason (Tanin electronics). He'll most likely pop in this thread in a little bit. I think its 150-200 bucks to have them rebuild it.

Other method is to replace parts yourself. Not aware of where to obtain the large needles but eBay has a few smaller needles. The bulbs are cheap and quite easy to come by, though, I cannot recall what type they are ATM. GL!

I just picked up a 92 SC400 ($500 if you can believe it...with128k...was sitting at the back of an old used car lot and forgotten about...clean car fax).

Really quirky in a cool way. I'm rebuilding the lights on the gauge needles now. I also have a 2003 SC300 that is my baby.

You mentioned you could email a service manual?
