Exclamation Auto 1jz to manual r154 questions

i still have a few questions on the swap, i tried looking but its usually for the 2jzge to manual or something that isnt exactly what i need.

im purchasing a soarer r154 without the driveshaft or shifter (just the actual pole that comes out to shift gears not the tripod) and im confused on a few areas

1. What driveshaft do i need?
-the soarer trans im getting doesnt come with half a driveshaft, yet my friend has a jza70 driveshaft he said i can have for 50 bucks

2. With the driveshaft in, will it work with my auto differential?
-or could i use the jza70 front half and use the sc300 rear half and mate those 2?

3. With the r154 in the car and me running on a stock 1jzgte auto ecu, can i just unplug the wires for the trans going to the ecu? i heard people just cut the wires, but i could just unpin them.

4. The soarer trans is missing the shifter, can i juse get one out of any r154? i searched on egay r154 shifter and found one that says it fits NA/TT r154s so im assuming itll work.

any info would be great.. i tried searching, like i said but i cant find exactly what i need. thanks

You need a Soarer or MKIII turbo front half of a driveshaft either 7m or r154. This will bolt up to your rear half. Which means yes, the rear driveshaft will bolt up to the same differential it has been bolted to since the car was made.

Just unplug them, no it's not pretty, yes it will work.

I'm pretty sure you need a Soarer/Chaser shifter. In fact it would probably be easier if you got a transmission with out the tripod so you could get an aftermarket reproduction shifter.

No actually that is A: for a W58, and B: it is JUST the shifter, no tripod. As far as I know you need the tripod too right?

all i see is wrong info. the drive shaft you need one from a turbo mk3 with r154. forget the BS tripod crap, cut the shifter and add 1.75 inches to it to move it back... pre 1995 w58 shifters will work on the r154. the wires going to the ecu just leave them alone you dont need to do anything to them just plug in the speed sensor and the reverse sensor..

okay, drive shaft issue resolved, my friend has the front half to a mk3 turbo driveshaft.

the shifter though, it has the tripod on it already. its the soarer r154 so i dont need to move anything i just need the damn stick that i can puta shift **** on..

okay so a remote shifter from a w58 will work on the remote r154. so if that mk4 supra short shifter is for a remote (tripod) w58 it will work for you.
