Im doing a Manual R154 swap on my 98 SC400 , I am looking to buy a Soarer trans , I see a few R154 trans on crags list, supra , 7 bell housing , my question is there a specific part # i need to look for so i don't buy the wrong trans ,

I know actual soarer trans are not an easy find in los angeles

An r154 is an r154...u just need to accommodating bell housing and it should bolt up

Im in the same situation looking for r154, but not from mk3
I know it's almost impossible to find one out of the soarer on cl with extended shifter housing so you don't have to cut a hole in the tranny tunnel. If I'm wrong somone correct me. 7mgte tranny is a little different than the r154 out of a soarer 1jz
If you go 7m route u need to keep your 1uzfe bell housing and have an adaptor made to match your 7m with a custom throw out bearing and a clutch slave cyl or go quantum auto hydrolic bearing and lines. You'll have to do that with either trany or go custom since there is no plug and play option $$$$ and swet.

If your car if a factory auto, you will still need to cut a hole in the tunnel whether you put in a factory w58 or r154 (regardless of whether it's a real soarer one or a MK3 with extended shifter).

Look at how this gentleman cut out the hole in the tunnel. That's basically all you need to do. It's not difficult to do.

I would read that whole thread if you are serious about doing the swap.
