Angry Do not change ur fuel filter!!!!!!

Everyone keep in mind it's easy to change ur filter but when their is a chance for things to go the wrong way they will.

So if ur going to change ur fuel filter do it only when you have about 1 or 2 gal. In the tank.

Reason being: the fuel lines are soo close together that if you don't thread the fittings correctly the. You will be fighting with them for a while. That isn't the bad part.

When you have gallons of fuel running down ur arms and getting burnt from it I where the big problem is.

So now I'm stuck waiting for hours for this fuel to run out. Dame toyota for being so stupid putting these lines so close

Found that out the hard way with a buddy of mine awhile back. We drained out about 9-11 gals before we changed it. Couldn't be any easier changing it out though which was a plus. Most people have trouble with it being rusted on but with mine being a florida car it was a breeze.

Same issue I had, I work at a car shop and most cars don't have a constant fuel drain when you open the fuel filter. But for the SC I lost at least 3 gals of gas doing the fuel filter. It just kept coming out and I was like wtf. Soaked! Lesson Learned.

So why didn't you just wait til it was near empty and drain it using a catch pan?

Gloves I went through a half of a box. And that's only b/c I decided to wait 7hrs for the 4 1/2 gals to drain.

I have never came across anything like this fn SC It is a PITA. And now I'm contemplating doing my 95sc

Now that 95 is a northern car and tell u what I don't know if the lines will break free. That dame thing the lines are all rusted up. I hate Northern cars.

Been there done that! Gas in the pits is a very surprising pain.

did anyone think to open their gas cap to release the pressure built up in the tank? That wont stop it from completely leaking, but it wont keep pouring out.

Should have just put the car in neutral and hit the rev limiter for a few minutes, that should take car of the gas
