Issue with 12-Disc Changer
Apparently these are notorious for having problems. This is my first issue with mine.
It's worked flawlessly for the year that I've owned it but today when I pressed eject to add a CD to the cassette, nothing happens. The eject button is constantly lit, but when I press it, nothing happens.
Any ideas?

There was a very good thread that I read about our CD changers, I cant find it now though. Bottom line our CD changers are crap, and if yours breaks there's better alternatives.
Pioneer invented the magazine style CD changer back in 1987. The Lexus SC and the LS400 were some of the first cars to use this. The CD changer installed in the SC in 1991 all the way through 1998 was a first generation unit that came with all the bugs that a first gen product will come with.
When lexus release the second gen ES300, by that time the second generation CD changers were out from Pioneer. The SC never got them because the system was designed around the first gen unit. Oddly enough the two are interchangible. If you purchase a CD changer from an ES300 (recommend from 1996-1999) you will now have a 6 CD changer and the mount is not the same as the SC. But it will plug in and can be read by the head unit.
Apparently you can also swap in the headunit and CD changer from a 99+ SC which evolved to an in dash changer which was a superior unit.

Ok, so it worked right when I plugged it in. I put the new CDs in and it's worked perfectly.
I went to add another today and it's not working again. Looks like I'll have to tear part of my trunk apart to change cds.
