Default 240sx vs. Sc300/400 ???

I know rookie a** question and i am wearing Nomex.

I use to have a s14 and a s13 sr20det , I like the s14 because it was raw na power and fun to drive , my s13(sr20det ) was fun and fast almost 300hp but drew up a lot of attention on the streets.

I have a LS430 now and looking into a SC 300 or SC400 , I am going for a NA engine set up ,which one can mod better with out the turbo set up, The SC300 or SC400 ? And how do the SC's compare to the 240sx ?? I have never had a chance to drive an SC yet ??

Thanks for any info.

One of the most critical differences between the 240's and SC's is the WEIGHT !! Are you thinking no FI at all though? I think you'll definitely want the sc400 then. You can always add a blower

why would someone be against boost?....but the 97+front bumper and side skirts look so much better. i think the 240 still gives you the boy racer look even if you have a lotta power, while the SC gives you that grown up look but can still whoop some @ss if needed.

Without boost s14's are Sooooo slowwwww. Used to have a 95 s14. On twistie s14 is a superb handling machine it'll eat heavy powerful cars for breakfast. If you like cruising in luxury 98+ sc400 is the way to go.

Yeah two totally different cars, I was going through a similar debate. I was going to pick up a S14 shell and throw a 1j and 5spd at it, but ended up picking up an sc400 for a daily because its a much nicer car and if I want later down the road I can always boost it. The only real advantages I see of the S14 is lightweight, handling and cheap oem parts.

Thanks for the replies .
My S14 only had intake , header , exhaust , LSD, Tein Coil overs,Tie rods ,chassis bracing , roll cage, B&M shifter , Ziegan wheels , It was a blast in the canyons (Great road car) , Handled like a champ.
I was looking to do the same with the SC and did not know if i should go with the V8 or the SC300.

Nothing is wrong with a boosted set up just a lot of cash $$$ and tickets.

SC300 with NA mods and suspension i wonder if i will be happy like i was with the S14 ??

Hello

I know....that's why I asked if he was opposed to ALL forms of FI, or JUST turbo. Either way, the 400 would definitely be the way to go for either preference: NA power or SC'ed.

sc400 for no boost.

Expect it to be slower than your S chassis though.

Please do not compare a Lexus SC to a Nissan 240. This thread is FAIL.
