240sx vs. Sc300/400 ???
240's are **** compared to the sc imo, cant wait until i boost, i will floor it past them and flip them off, as turbo s13 owners have done to me, my sc is a na 5spd black with 18 black wheels with polished lip, some 240 owners are full of themselves, as with any car really, the sc's seem to have a lot more respect overall as well and are not seen everywhere, i have it out for 240sx owners now!
If your not looking into FI, either SC is gonna be in the mid 15's on a 1/4 mile. and there arent too many hp gains besides turbo and supercharger. You can open up the exhaust for ~$800, bolt on the short ram for ~$230, and get a cheap 2800 stall torque converter bought and installed for ~$700. With that set up you'll might hit the high 14's. The main SC problem is the weight. My Grand Jeep Cherokee with a lift kit is only 300 lbs heavier! But what it comes down to is the nissan 240 is like a civic; its fun to hook up, the parts for gaining hp are pretty cheap, and its quick. But when an SC pulls up beside a 240 at the stoplight, everybody knows whats up. If your in the 240, your in the plastic seats, plastic trim, 13" rims and your girl knows it. If your in the SC, your chillin in leather, comfort, and you have something the will stay nice and last forever. The bottom line is, without FI, SC's are made for cruzin. ...But it still hurts when that civic beats you...

Well said.
Without going forced induction is going to be expensive. The sc 300 comes with a 2jz-ge which im sure can equal 350 D.D. power without problem taking into consideration, Maintenance! There are too many turbo owners or here who could chime in. It would make no sense to go n/a with a godly platform as a 2j.
However the sc400 would be the better route if you stuck with the v8 and n/a!
Everyone has their cup of coffee. You sir imo are crazy =p.

SOOO you meant to say, without VVTI, FI is the only route, but really FI is the only route to any platform for real power

besides the ridiculous LS V8 motors.. they just love bolt ons.....?

the 1UZ is a great motor and your off on your specs. 92's only had 225. 95's had 250. 96's had 260. and everyones preferred sc400 the 98+ with vvt-i had 290 so before you put the sc400 down know what your talking about please.
I built a 392rwhp sr'd s13 before I got my SC......In all honesty I'd rather have it back, but I already parted it out.....Light years ahead of the SC as far as the Fun-Factor goes...but it got kind of old being a drag guy, surrounded by "drifters" being constantly asked if I drifted, or when I was going to come drift....guess the stereotype came with the ownership.....Style and comfort go to the SC, but the cost of ownership award goes to the 240...nothing ever broke on that car.....Someting else breaks on the SC every other day. Has made me want to sell it on more than one occasion.
+1 opening up a can of Whoopa$$ lol
