Never had this problem until recently I decided to open my trunk using my key. I had trouble getting the key into the hole and when I got it in the hole, I had it trouble getting it back out, almost got stuck. I am afraid of putting lube inside the key hole because I am not sure if it is okay to do so. Is there a way to fix this problem?

maybe just spraying the key with wd-40 and working it back and forth?

sounds like the inside of the key hole is dirty or something? try doing what ashtray said first... but i don't think putting lube inside the key hole will do any damage either.

try messing/removing and reinstalling the lock on the tail light. It has a little lever on that connects to something and i think thats what makes the trunk open

either wd-40 or some good old graphite. You can get graphite from any lock smith supply store and the stuff does wonders for lock cylinders.

I should do this. I have trouble getting my key in the driver side door when it's cold.

I've got a similar problem with mine. Mine goes in, but wont turn. Do you guys think WD-40 would fix that as well, or should I pop the taillight out and have a closer look?

wd-40 will work, but graphite is the ultimate solution seeing as how thats one of its specific purposes and is used by every locksmith I have ever known, and it will outlast the wd40 over time.

lemaylexus-I would suggest removing the taillight and see if there is something in the way, or bent that isnt allowing it to turn.
