i went to go have my bushings replaced as well as both my wheel bearings replaced, and we had 1 problem the bushings dont fit so i thought to my self they have been seitting in a corner y dont they fit. im like what the hell

so when went back to the shop and made a video my guy said ur not suppoosed to use the exsisting sleaves that the kit should have new ones

the stock metal sleeve needs to be replaced. you need to burn out the old bushing or have right tools and a press to press it out.

i dont know if that sleeve can be purchased separately from the dealer. probably not and only as part of the whole control arm assembly.

you can buy sleeves together with the daizen bushing kits(prothane bushings). im sure they will sell you just the sleeves if you contact them.

 

on point, reuse the old sleeves. Today I installed the bushings and they fit well. Tapped them in with a rubber hammer. I had to cut one of the camber bolts to get the arm out, and in the process messed up one of my sleeves.

 

I'm still puzzled y they have so much room in the bushing.

it depends on the kit you buy, I bought the protheane kit not the daizen one and it didnt bring the metal sleve which means i had to reuse the old on that is in there. I just changed mine on thursday and my tech almost made the mistake of taking out the sleve. If u ur mechanic pulled the whole sleeve out then ur stuck and are going have to buy a new one. Its not a must to change it just depends on the kit you buy thats why daizen offers two different kits when u do new bushings. But since urs are messed up from taking it out its too late

 

just did mines the other day, burn out the old rubber, clean the inside of the lca very well, lubricate the bushings w/ the grease that it came w/ and hand pushed it in..i don't recall any sleeves besides the ones that came off the aluminum inner sleeves which are to small to reuse...

 

I did the same thing dude. I pushed my inners out, then used a small bluepoint air hand hacksaw blade to cut the sleeve, got it out and realized my kit didnt come w/a new sleeve, i thought i was F'ed then someone came up w/an idea. so i went down to my local exhaust shop, digged around in his scrap bent till i found a pcs of exhaust tubing that my bushing fit, it fit good but bushing still would spin it the tube, once i tried to fit the pcs of pipe in the control arm it was just slightly too big. PERFECT, put the bushing in and pressed the pipe in with a press. sware its just like OEM never had a problem EZ fix. you cant buy the sleeve, just go get some exhaust tubing take you control arm to autozone or a exhaust shop, you'll find what u need. you only need like 5"

 

I reused my old inner sleeves. I feel as though they'd be a pain in the *** to take out anyway.

The problem I had with my bushing fitment was that they were too long to fit into the housing on the frame. I had to dremel a small amount off of the outer perimeter of the bushing itself to get it to fit in the bracket.

i was wondering the same thing because i also didn't...there was no way of getting them on the new bushings
