Biggu's engine refresher build thread.
Coil packs in, new fuel line is made.
also got brand new valve cover gaskets, bolts and new little valve cover bushing things.
I lined the inside of the valve cover with heat tape and it seems to help quite a bit in the little time the car was running. yes you read that correct. the car runs!!!

^^ soon!
I did drive it around the block though. its not happy with me now because of that but oh well. I gotta figure out why its not making any boost. chances are I hooked up the vacuum lines wrong to the wastegate Ill check everything over.
Also its not very fun to drive open downpipe with the shifter hole opened. turns out flames can get up in there if you 2 step hahahah.
Since its saint pattys day I put the body on. fenders are mounted, front bumper is quickly mounted, rear bumper is mounted and I had the passenger side skirt on with 2 screws but I didnt fully mount it since the rear quarters still need cut and welded.
I'm debating on new license plates for the car, been thinking of getting DAT ***. but ill probably wait till we get our new plates here in ohio.
Heres some pictures though.

i was just checking out your fuel system some more.
do you have any more pictures of your swirl tank setup?
we just installed a nice fuel system in my roommate's super clean FC and i was telling him about your swirl tank setup that i just came across on clublexus. we want to do something similar.
so that smaller line going to the top/side of the swirl tank is the return, and the 044s are just pulling from the bottom of the swirl tank, i'm guessing.

Still using an AEM v1 but it gets the job done.
Essentially yes, My design isnt a true swirl pot mainly acts like a surge tank which is why its bigger. It holds 2.34 gallons extra so I dont need to worry about the swirling effect.
Essentially how it works is the walbro feeds the tank, if you look at the pot the black fitting on the tank is my feed from the walbro. the one directly next to it that goes to the floor is the fuel return from the rail. the 2 fittings on the direct top of the tank is the return lines from the pot to the tank the reason they are smaller is because I could not find a -8 stainless steel bulkhead fitting so I just did 2 -6. obviously the last 2 fittings are the feeds to the 044's. Simple in theory and easy to setup just a pain.
If you wanted a true swirl pot the inlets and the fuel return would be angled in such way that it would promote a swirl in the tank. doing that would also allow you to run a much smaller tank.
I have the TTC duel feed fuel rail and FIC 1000CC injectors. You can call fuel injector clinic and tell them you want a 1jz fuel rail and they have them thats what I had originally but I wanted a duel feed.

So for those still following this thread,
Got the arms all back from Figs last week and got the spare shell moved outta the trailer so I can move mine in. I finished all I needed to do, made brackets for the rear bumper, made covers for some holes in the trunk, re mounted my gauge setup.
still left to do is cut the quarters and weld them back up. mount the rear quarters, finish the exhaust, make a front bash bar if possible, paint. Biggest hold up is im still waiting for my hood to get here.
In other news I had to swap out the front lower rear subframe out because it was bent Ive got a few pictures of it but I hope now the alignment can be correct.

yep, the swirl pot is 2.34 gallons of fuel but the return from the fuel rail returns back into the swirl pot not the fuel tank so it stays full.
