SC300 5-Speed Aftermarket Shift Knobs...
Ok guys, some follow up.
I'm not sure if the Soarer short shift kit will fit the SC300, because of the differences in drivetrains (I don't think the 1JZGTE and the 2JZGE use the same 5-speed transmission, but I have no way of verifying this). TRD says there was a change after 93 in the shift mechanism so the short shift kit for the Soarer does not fit 92-93 models. I question the validity of this, and I could look further if anyone was interested. Pricing is like ~$220 for the kit.
For the TRD shift ****, it's a pretty plain/ordinary ball-type **** that will fit the SC300 I'm told, and only costs ~$20.
I can get either part, so if anyone is interested let me know.
Regards,

Marcus, put me down for the shift **** for sure.
How hard would it be to do the install? I was looking for a way to take out the area surrounding the shifter and I couldn't find it? does it simply SNAP OFF? I really didnt want to pull too hard.
Also, is it just me or is 4 -> 5 a really hard shift? I've grinded it at least 5 times now. It seems like 4->5 is just not a natural motion, I guess lexus wants to distinguish it more from 2->3 shift. I have to think extra hard everytime I do it and I shift much slower because I gota make sure it goes into 5th before I left out the clutch again.

Ok guys,
I have come to the conclusion that the short shift kit will fit ALL the SC300s. I looked at the website again and it says that the short shift kit fits all years of the N/A Supra, which we have identical drivetrains to. So I am sure it would fit. The short shift kit includes a shift ****.
If you just want the TRD shift ****, like I said before that is roughly ~$20.
For those TRD parts, you need to contact Curt Aigner @ Elmhurst Toyota. eparts@elmhursttoyota.com. The part numbers for the short shifter and shift **** are:
Short Shift Kit: 33530-JX000
Shift ****: 33504-SP002
Curt is the one who found these for me so he will know exactly what you are referring to.
For the MOMO shift ****/boot, you can get those through Chris Bergman @ horsepowerfreaks.com. I 'persuaded' him to look these parts up and see if he offered them, and now he is offering them on his website for us. He's got the best pricing around that I have seen and great customer service to boot. I have ordered a number of things from him for both my SC300 and Supra.
I think I'm going to go with the MOMO ****/boot, I don't really feel a need for a short shifter in the SC, because I just don't drive the SC in a way where shorter shifts would matter
. It's my cruiser, and I think the stock throws are fine given the fact it's a luxury coupe.
