Default Aftermarket Shift ****

Has anyone tried installing an aftermarket shift ****? I'm in credibly annoyed about the plastic boot attachment and the fact that I can't find an adapter to retain the boot. It seems like the only way to use an aftermarket shift **** is to take apart the center console and replace the boot attachment.

Image is from another thread for a different car, but the shifter is the same as the NX.

Or you could go with a Japanese Shakotan style shifter....

My main issue is the weight of the **** and I want to increase it to at least 500 grams. It looks like I will have to remove the center console and replace that boot ring/collar with a universal aftermarket.

How does the weight of the **** contribute to any perceived feeling? The entire weight is fully supported by the gear lever, and any inertia provided by mass is negated by the detents in the gear shifting?

It is mostly for sequential manual shifting. Yes, moving between the automatic gears wouldn't be much different but up/down shifting definitely has an effect on how much force is needed to move the ****.
