Okay, as many of you know, I have the real do-luck kit, but with this group buy on the autocouture kit, I'm really thinking about changing body kits. This is where i would like all opinions.... please. Should I get the new autocoture kit, or just keep my do-luck? I love both kits, but i don't know if i can afford to have an extra body kit laying around.... wouldn't that be fun!
Totally different images... The AC is more genteel, urbane, and subtle. The Do-Luck is a sporty, aero kit. It all depends on which direction you're headed with your SC. You could always find another buyer for the Do-Luck kit if it came to it. I personally prefer the AC kit because it gives the SC a more solid profile and smoother contour.
hey lex,
yeah, i suppose i could find a buyer, but how much do you think i could get for it? had it for less than a year. I love the do-luck kit, but then i think about how the AC kit looks very similar to a 97+ sc400. Is it just me?
I agree w/ you do-luck,, i think the AC kit looks like a lowered 97+ SC. The AC kit is a little too classy looking in my opinion, and this kit just wouldn't be as much of a head-turner. So do-luck, I think you should stick w/ the veilside, because it seems to be a lot more unique than the AC, plus you'd need to go through all of the trouble & money of uninstalling & installing the kits. And most importantly... you would need to change your name!!! So my final verdict is if you like it, then keep it, because I think your SC is lookin good!
Yeah, if you wanna be breaking necks, stick with your do-luck. I'm sure you get a lot of attention with that kit. The AC kit is very nice looking too. It all depends on what kind of responses you want and who you're getting responses from. Personally, if I were to choose, I'd opt for the AC because I wouldn't want every kid out there staring at my car everywhere I go.
IMO, the Do-Luck kit, like the Veilside kit, looks a little too ricey...no need to overdo it with the kit, the SC is a nice looking car to start off with (especially the '97+ models)...don't think you'll EVER get a "that's rice" comment with the AutoCouture Kit...
As for "snapping necks", take a look at the black AutoCouture SC below...I think that'll "snap necks"....
thanks for your input everyone! i do get a lot of looks with the do-luck, but now what i'm thinking about is whether or not the AC kit will look great on my car with the color i have. i have more of a metallic greyish color.
manaray, when is the FINAL date you need the $$$ by? where are you located? i might just drop off the dough to you in person.
if i do get the AC kit, i'd for sure have to get some 19's to finish off the "pimp" look just like the black AC kit above.
Again, it's all personal preference and taste in styling. I dig the Wald/Auto Conture look much more than the sporty Do-Luck/Veilside. Wald and Auto Conture are unassuming, non-presumputuous kits that compliment the luxury behind the L-badge. Veilside and Do Luck kits lead people to believe you have a blazing rocket and everyone will try to take you out at every other stoplight. Whichever kit you get will ultimately determine what kind of wheels you'll get as well. AC and Wald deserve the Lowenhart/L-Sportline/HRE breed wheels. The VS and DL mate well with mesh or spoke wheels like Volk/SSR/Blitz.
