Default Sc400 help

i just bought a 92 sc400 off my uncle and i plan on doing some work on it, what would be best to start getting?im kinda on a low budget but am willing to go somewhat out of my way for some hp

oh and i have a little problem but i have no idea on where its located, driving around 35mph when i feel like slowing down i let go of the pedal and my rpms will drop to idle speed(under 1k) any ideas on whats happening?

before you start modding the car, cover all your basis first. Tune up, make sure the car is opperating well. spend some time making sure its all clean and presentable. Once you have all the basic stuff done then I would say work on suspension and brakes. No point in making power if ya cant keep it on the ground or even stop the tank of an sc... Just my opinion but mine is a 93 and it took me some time to get everything functioning 100% before i modded the car. It allways sucks when u spend all your money on mods then your water pump, starter or something goes out and breaks.

First thing you do is probably the front control arm bushings. a car at that age...

Hmm.... you say it doesn't slowly drop in RPM.. it's like as if you had a manual car and pushed in the clutch?
and the RPM just drops immediately? confused...

well toobs ive almost replaced everything..alternator,water pump etc...and i hear ya it sucks sitting in traffic and knowing you've caused it haha

and drift, say im driving and want to slow down but i dont feel like hitting the brakes so i let go of the accelerator(by now im driving like 35-40mpg) and the rpms will decrese to less than 1k but yes its slowly dropping in rpm..ive been told thats idle speed but it doesnt die on me it sits at like 500 until i push on the gas again
