This Weekend
I did a few things to the coupe this weekend, and wanted to see what other members did.
Saturday:
Finally installed the Tanabe Medalion Axle-back exhaust I bought over a year ago.
Swapped out fog lights - my old fogs had melt spots inside from running 70W Nokya yellow bulbs.
Sunday:
Replaced mirror ecu - What a B*TCH......It took me about toe hours to remove the old one.
Did anyone else put in work on their ride this weekend?

Actually I did start on my new project..
I bought a sealed box for my new (4) 8" inch subs.. The box is big, but the sound is freaking amazing. I only use the trunk but my car clean up stuff and my golf clubs. I am rewiring everything on the stereo side, and dropping from 8 gauge to 4 gauge wire. This will allow more amps form battery to the trunk for my 2 amps. The smaller amp is bridged for the new rear 6x9's, and the front door 6 1/2". The big amp is running the subs. I will be removing the stock sub, so the box can vent better inside the cabin, and I may also cut some of the thin metal behind the top portion of the back seat. This will give me maximum sound, without an ugly look, and still keeoing the OEM look, form looking inside the windows. I am also building me an amp rack for the 2 amps, distubution block, for power and ground, on top of the fuel tank. This will be made so it can be quickly removed..
I am glad you asked.

I replaced them w/ regular Phillips halogens. Don't leave your fogs on for a long period of time; that's how mine's melted the inside of the housing.

No work on the Lexus this weekend but worked on my g/f's honda. we had the front lower ball joints replaced at a shop two weeks ago. I changed the oil friday night and while i was under the car, i noticed a bolt was missing from one of the calipers. We woke up at 7am Saturday and went to the shop. it took them 45 minutes to get an open rack and another 45 minutes to find a bolt and tell us the threads on the caliper were stripped. They refused to fix it and told us it had to have been like that when we brought it in. I had to drive 30 miles to find someone who had a caliper in stock and the other caliper bolt was cross threaded so it took me most of the day to change out a caliper bracket. Lovely.
At least i got to spend 6 hours watching autocross today

I changed out my W3's for P3's, but that was on the GS. I did it so I can install one of the W3's in the 97 SC. The 10" that's in there just ain't cutting it, especially in a sealed box

Remove the rear seat, and the top rear deck piece. Once this is out of your way, i had to measure and cut a 1/2 inch piece of MDF wood.. I think it was 13 inches long by 8 1/2 inches wide? Around there. This layed out on the top existing brackets for the factory holes. When this piece is cut, mkae sure you reinstall the rear deck part to make sure it clears the 6x9's. Some are taller than the others. Also check to see if the original speaker covers are going to hit the original underside plastic speaker cover.
Once this was cut, I cut the center out of it so the 6x9 would fit in. Once this was done I placed the MDF piece on top again and used a sharpie to trace the new hole for it to fit. It did use some of the existing hole from the factory one.. I used a jigsaw and a sawzall, to finish cutting the piece of metal out. It doesnt have to be perfect, because the MDF will cover it. I reused the factory speaker wire. I then predrilled 4 holes through the MDF and the factory metal for the new screws to go in without any trouble. Once in place, I screwed it down, and seal the outer part with liquid nail. Let it dry. Install the speaker and screw down it into the MDF. Same for the other side. I also used some Dynamat to keep the rattling down. A little goes a long way.
I hope this is a little helpful to you. Wasnt that hard. It took maybe 2 hours to do both sides. Once you do one side, the other side will be faster. Good luck.

Last weekend I got my differential swapped out.. this weekend I tried to find what the problem on the differential was and it came out to be the front bearing on it. I got much needed oil change as well.

What did you replace them with?
