Default Adjusting the SC door

Does anyone knows how to adjust the SC400 door?
I need to move the door back a few mm. The driver door front edge is touching the edge of the fender . Just found it today after the paint has been chip off from the edge of the fender.
I don't know how the door move without anything happen to it

The manual read to adjust the door vertically or back and fort, loosen the body bolts. Hint: take the pin out to adjust. I can't take the pin out

Sorry I can't be of any real help...I'm pretty damn sure I have the same problem. Gotta check....They are some pretty heavy *** doors...But, then again... I've been out drinkin so, who the f*&^ knows? And what the f do I know?

Not sure if anybody esle has this? Mine is very slight. Meaning not too bad on where it rubs....Slight cheap(lol)chip/spot.....

I'm pretty damn sure my cars never been in an accident..Carfax, drives tight as a drum, etc...Been serviced/on lift at Dealer...So..

Anybody else heard of this?..Recall? While Im at it and drunk...WHats up with recalls? Can we take our cars and they fix some special things for free, if not already previously preformed?..

I know on my 95 SC300 (actual production date of Feb 94) they did have a recall on the door hinges and/or the bolts holding them on.

I had gone in for service once, and my service writer was checking out the car, and specifically looked to see if that was done. The give-away is that the bolts will be chrome/nickel-colored, vs. being painted over the color of the car.

Though I believe they did change these hinges for the 95+ coupes, you may still be able to get info on how this may apply to any earlier model.

I guess only three people belong to this forum have problems with the door rubbing the fender:eek: , and no one here ever have to adjust the SC door.

It must be one of those ancient Japenese engineering secrets.

It looks like there is just a stronger bracket w/ stronger bolts that was replaced on my 95. That "upgrade" may also work for the earlier models. My service writer said it was needed for the heavy doors, so my thought is that the better "fix" is to replace the brackets vs. adjusting the door (since there are no replies to that affect to help you).

I guess you mean the door hinge because I don't see any bracket that is attach to the hinge. It must be a whole unit change out.

Last quote I got was ~$200 each
