i own an 1995 sc300 and i notice when i arm or unarm my car with factory alarm, none of my lights on the outside work such as parking lights/tailights blinking to let me know that i pressed the alarm button. sorry if it sounds confusing but i just noticed it last night in the parking lot. is that normal with our cars? i just cant remember if it did it before or not.

the older cars don't make a sound or flash the lights to let you know if the doors or lock/alarm have been initiated. do you hear a a sound (beep) when the locks have been toggled?

 

as far as I have read, none of the pre-97 SC's will make any sound or signal lights when the factory "alarm" is engaged or disengaged.

 

My '95 will make a beep beep sound when you hit the door unlocker button; and one beep for lock. No lights or anything however. I've had the car since it had about 68k on it so I'm sure it's still working fine.

Mines a 95 and mine makes beep 2 for unlock 1 for lock I believe. Also there is a red security light that comes on when my alarm engages and all doors are locked.

 

mine is a 96 and it beeps when its armed and unarmed

 

does the beep only happen when you use the keyless lock/unlock or does it beep when you use the key in the door as well?

 

Only if you use the little keyless button on the key....

 

Sounds like we need a DIY on someone making the lights flash when we disarm on the 92-96 models. Any ideas?
