2000 sc300, ive said it before and ill say it again, only get the v8 if its a 98+ (vvt-i), otherwise get the 300. The 2000 is nicer and has a nicer 3 spoke wheel, perforated leather,gated shifter and some other subtle changes, not to mention its the last production year for the 1st gen SC and is somewhat harder to find, especially in good condition with low miles. Also the I6 is a lot easier to work on,cheaper to mod and maintain etc..... If you aren't planning to drag race the I6 has plenty of power for daily driving/cruising. Something else to think about is the 2000 is newer with lower miles so if god forbid it gets totaled out you will get more for it than you would for the 97.
