i guess the resistor is working cuz all weekend the light hasnt came on. THANKS GUYS!

it is almost always "stuck closed" as they call it.
what they really mean is so much doodoo is stuck in the EGR pipe that it actually gets clogged, not allowing air to pass.



yes, there is a probe that sticks into the base of the EGR pipe where it meets the intake manifold. it is a grey clip and it is right between the back of the intake manifold and the firewall. its best to get someone with small hands to do it.
Alright, first post.... I've had this car for four years with these issues:
went through three alternators,
one crank pulley,
two tires exploded,
both handle clips broke,
cracked radiator,
random oil and coolant leaks,
passenger side window motor broke about a month ago,
driver inside door handle just broke a week ago,
steering wheel tilt motor broke a year into having the car,
random stalls,
oil pools in the spark plugs causing them to short every so often.
Cd player barely works.
I have to physically reroute the vacuum lines to achieve heat in the winter.


Now the check engine light, error 71. I have plugged this 10,000 ohm resistor in about 4 female plugs so far, nothing has worked. The grey temperature sensor is what I have it plugged into currently, and the cel still comes on...

If you plugged the resistor into the probe side (what you have pictured in the stock photo; looks the same as your actual photo), how would the ECU know that? It has to be on the harness side to fool the ECU.

Yeah the harness side would help, and also do the valvecover gaskets if you keep getting oil in the plugs.
