Or no one has tried it before.

If your planning on doing it document it, pretty sure it has more power potential than a UZ engine.

If you look in the second gen GS section there is a guy swapping an LSX into his GS. He also plans on making the motor and trans mounts to sell, which should work just fine in your SC!

On a side note I don't like the idea...

I think most people would do a GTE swap first simply because it bolts in and it's much easier. LS1 with bolt on's would be a nice car but you would still be running slower than a comprable camaro due to the weight difference.

If u want an Ls1, Trans-Ams are priced similar to the SC with fewer miles and much newer. Plus you can spend the money you would have used to fit an LS1 in your SC on a cam and bolt on's.

you could just build a 4.7 tundra motor with twins if you looking for some V8 power i think a 1 or 2uz will run you cheaper than an LS1 and the swap would prob cost less since there is already an SC with a V8

I've always though a ls2 powered sc300 could be a decent cheap drag car.

The shells are abundant and cheap. And you can use all the drag racing chassis and suspension parts made for the supra.

When a sc is stripped it's not that heavy. And at least it's something different.

But yeah you're right, at the end of the day a fox body mustang with a chevy motor, powerglide, nitrous, and 102mmturbo is the way to go. There's 20+ years of solid development for chassis and suspension parts that are abundant.

But as always it's more cost effeftive to buy something already done vs build it. To answer your question, No, I've never seen hide nor hair of a LS powered SC.

It might actually be pretty funny in public to turn on your ls7 powered sc with a BOOM in public...scare everyone chitless thinking your lexus is a transformer haha.

But I digress...not really digging the idea, however its interesting.

LSX motors are pretty sick. I'm a toyota/nissan/mazda guy thru and thru, but I'm tellin you what I'd love to have any of the LSx motors. Its so easy to make power with them it's crazy. I hate to say this but they are a better motor than a UZ. Parts are cheaper, parts are on the shelf, etc...

My SC has an aristo swap running in TTC mode. It's a lot of fun, however my daily is an SS trailblazer (LS2 6.0). My point is I would rather the power of the ls2 off the line, rather than waiting for boost. If this was available when I did my swap I'm pretty sure I would have gone with the lsx!

Forget the naysayers and go for it!

Well you obviously don't speak on behalf of ALL us Toyota guys because I'd take an LS1 over a 1UZ any day of the week I'd swap an LS1 into my SC before a 2JZ, but that's because I'm all for the N/A V8's and the LS1 is a VERY reliable/powerful motor. Anyways, it's not an LS1, but a member on here did use a Tundra motor in his SC.
