Well, I decided to paint the console on my 95'. I followed directions from another thread and sprayed some Goo-gone on the console, but, it almost started to dissolve the actual plastic. Luckily, I caught it before it happened.
I then sanded everything down with 400 and an interface pad and used some SEMS aerosol to spray the console, shifter, e-brake and boot, ash tray and shifter plate. Overall, I am pretty happy with the results, but it was a PITA to strip off all of the OEM vinyl coating that was on the console.

Nice I am going to do the same thing to mine. Im covering the wood in a matte black as well.

 

So you're going with a tan/black interior? Do the dash in black too

Nice , I was going to do SEM.. but I ended up buying all OEM black parts. lol. I'll be doing two-tone and if I don't like it , might go full.

Man i wish i knew about the goo gone thing. That rubberized coating is a royal PITA to sand down.
