Default ciggarette lighter not working.

hi guys, so my ciggarette lighter doesnt work. im not sure why, but it's been like that since i bought my car. i checked the fuse in the side kick panel in the driver side already and it looks fine. I believe it was number 15A labeled CIG, but as i have searched on this forum, others were saying it was number 10. i have no idea where that is coming from. Also, I disassembled my center console to have a look under the ciggarette lighter. People on this forum were saying that it could be a burnt fusable link, so i checked that too and it appears to be fine.

To conclude this, I chcekd the fuse in the side kick panel and the lighter assembly.

Thanks for the help in advance. =]

quit smoking!... j/k

just replace the unit... there is a internal connection inside the cig lighter... sometimes over the years and use it burns out.....(i'm referring to the female socket, NOT the actual lighter unit)

Just check to see if there is power going to the cig lighter with the key on at the fuse. If there isn't power there you have a power distribution issue. Then you would need to check the power going into the fuse panel or the panel itself. If you have power see if it is going up to the cig lighter and if it is change out the cig unit. Easy as that.

To be more specific i'm refering to the replacement of the washer with a regular steel one.
