Broken Cigarette lighter in SC400?
I had the cigarette lighter tested when I got the car checked out for problems after I had purchased the vehicle and it resulted that the cigarette lighter wasn't working? Anyone know how to replace this? Or do you think it may be a simple fix like just plugging it in? Thanks.
It easy to replace. I think the positive is just a unplug type and a nut that holds the back of it in place correctly. Should be done in a few minutes without any problems. Someone else chime in to make sure.
is you climate control still working? if it is then, yea. your gonna need to replace the cig lighter. if the CC is out too, then its a fuse. thats under the driver side kick panel. its labeled cig with a 15w fuse. to remove the cig lighter you gonna need to pop the center console trim off. i think there are threads that show you how to do it.
Mine's dead too, and my climate works, so it's not a fuse. It comes on sporadically when I push whatever plug is in it down, but it won't stay on by itself. Haven't gotten around to replacing the lighter socket assembly itself but I bet that's the problem.
