the cigarette lighter in my 98 gs 300 doesnt work, the one in the ash tray and center console. I checked that the ash tray one was plugged in, so I'm assuming that it is a fuse. Where is the fuse box and which fuse should I check?

have seen 4 posts bout this same thing in last 2 months. search please so we dont clutter forums with reposts

 

The fuse box is on the driver side a the bottom side panel .left of the parking brakes.there should be a schematic of all the fuses behind the panel once you remove it.

Thanks for your response, I located and changed the cigarette fuse and now the cigarette port in the center console works but the ash tray doesnt. Is there another fuse or do i have to replace the ash tray one

 

any more ideas?

 

maybe the plug in back of the cigarette lighter is disconnected. it happen to me when I was installing audio controllers in the ash tray.just pull out the panel too see if it disconnected.

 

i checked the back already and made sure it was connected. How can I check if it is the cigarette lighter unit itself or where can I buy a replacement one?
