Default Help, car will not turn off!

so for two days now ive been having this issue. my car will not turn off when i turn off the key. it does have a turbo timer but i have removed that from the car. even with that on the when i turn off the car it doesn't even start to count down like it should now for some reason the first day it happened it did it to me in the morning got it to turn off by turning the key to start the car and it just died. now yesterday it did it to me again, this time i had to pull off the battery terminal to get it to stop but it had the exact same symptoms as before. it only did it to me 2 times yesterday. i at the time thought it was just the turbo timer so today i completely removed it and it does the same thing. now i was told that if you pull the terminal off the battery the car should keep running regardless. today comes by and that is all the car has done all day. i thought it could be the ecu but it even did it on the stock ecu. any one have any ideas? when i remove the key all the gauges turn off and the lights and what not the engine keeps running.

HELP!!!!

one thing i did notice is that when i unplug the turbo timer from the black/orange stripped wire the turbo timer starts to count down.

what is the black/ orange wire?

its not ecu related. the power to everything in the car is supplied through the ignition switch.

black orange is a second ignition wire. it powers up the ecu.

i had a problem on my car with that wire. in my case the car cranked and everything worked but did not start.

from the switch the black/orange wire goes to the fuse box in the cabin. then to the ecu, and some other fuel injection related stuff. if that wire didnt get power your car wouldnt start. if that wire got constant power i dont think it would run constantly though. the 1st ignition wire, black yellow, is in charge of all the major stuff.

either way here is a wiring list for an SC:

Constant 12V+ White/Red Ignition Switch Harness
Starter Black/White Ignition Switch Harness
Ignition Black/Yellow Ignition Switch Harness
Ignition 2 Black/Orange Ignition Switch Harness
Accessory Pink/Blue Ignition Switch Harness
Tach Black Igniter, Passenger's Fender
Brake Switch Green/White Brake Switch
Trunk Release Black (+) 2 Pin Black Conn. in Driver's Kick Panel
Trunk Pin Red/White (-) Driver's Running Board
Parking Lights Dark Green Driver's Kick Panel White Connector
Head Lamp Red/Yellow (+) Light Switch
Hood Pin n/a
Factory Disarm Green (-) Driver's Kick Panel
Door Trigger Red/White (-) Below Fuse Panel White Connector
Door Lock Red/Black 20 Pin Blue Connector
Door Unlock Green In Driver's Kick
Horn Wire Green/Red (-) Steering Column
Windows Up LF=Green/Yellow, RF=Red/Blue
Windows Down LF=Red, RF=Green/White

Black/Orange <-> Green
Pink/Blue <----> Blue

The harness yousplice into should have a black plug and is under the drivers side dash on the right side of the steering column."

thats the turbo timer harness tho.
5sp_jzz30, any ideas to test it and get it to turn off? like i said i have the turbo timer removed and the car will still stay on constantly

this may not have any relevance to your problem but by chance do you have aftermarket amps for your stereo? I'm an installer and three times so far i had customers come to me with this problem, there amp was bleeding constant power back through the remote wire and keeping the car running, besides this i'm lost, good luck man...

i got it!!!! turned on the car and took out the key and started messing around with the wiring. i got back to the engine bay and tugged on the wiring harness that goes through the firewall and the car turned off. so i atleast located the problem. looks like i did this for no reason

time to put it all back together.

id check the wiring in the driver side fender and see what that looks like. if not trace all your ignition wires and see where it goes. also check your motor grounds.
