Default help identify something new on my SC

Just happened to be looking down at my shifter console on my 95 sc4, and noticed a small slot about 1'' wide, just above the P symbol and just below the 2 heated seat switches. If I was guessing, I would think it was a shift lock override, like you would stick a thin peice of steel in it to unlock the shift lock.

I guess if the shifter gets locked-up you can stick a key in it and get the shifter moving again?

it's for lets say your battery died while car in storage and your friend agreed to jumpstart it with his car, but since you parked nose in, the cable is not long enough...so you stick a screwdriver in it to get it in N so you can push it out

actually its a cap that you have to remove first then you can stick a screwdriver down there for shift lock to disenguage. just pop off the top plastic piece. this might not be true for pre-97's.

I think only 92s had a button
After that, it was a cover you pop out and insert something to press down.

I guess its common to lose these things because every sc I had looked at in the past lost the cap, including mine.
