Has anyone used this guy for to refurbish the lights and LCD on their climate control? He is in San Jose, and will do it for $140!
Seems like a great deal???
I got mine fixed by him.. I work right down the street from him here in san jose. I emailed him and said I could bring my climate control by his work and he did it for 100 bucks I think. still pretty pricey for what it is im sure the lcd doesnt cost him much at all but I just wanted to get it done and didnt want to mess around with it myself. it turned out really good. looks brand new.
now I jsut need to find someone local to fix my tach needle.
I drove an hour to go to this guy, the job was done perfect. Took him an hour to solder it or so. Cost was like $120 which isnt' bad since an hour of work + an LCD screen that is better than the original.
He's an engineer who designed the LCD specifications and ordered a bunch himself from a manufacturer. I definitely recommend him!
I didn't want to mess it up myself soldering since there's a bunch of soldering points!

doubt that be designed it. you can find online catalogs that have lcd screens of all different configurations and size. if he designed it and had a company make it it would cost more then 120 bucks for the screen alone unless he made an order in the are of thousands of lcd panels.
this guy is just smart. he did some research and found which lcd works. he bought a bunch, for pennies on the dollar, and then installs and sells them to us. most lexus owners wouldnt go out of their way to find something that is an alternative and works anyways. most would avoid the hassle and pay someone to do it. if i was in his shoes i wouldnt have it any other way either. lol. spend 10 bucks on supplied. an hour later you made 120. nice profit margin
I wish I could get a datasheet on that LCD. It would make interfacing the climate control with my car computer way easier. Currently, I figured out how to get the buttons to respond, but I have no way of detecting the speed of the fan or if the auto mode is on
Does anyone know if Hai Ho at ls400lcd@verizon.net is still in business as I know he can provide screens for RHD LS400's however I am unable to contact him via his email address.
If anyone has had a recent dealing with him or any other info please let me know.
