biggest intercooler with stock bumper

whats the biggest one you can fit without any modification to the front bumper anyone know from experience?

A friend of mine ran a 24 x 12 x 3 in his SC. He had to remove the crash bar and you can see part of the intercooler through the bottom of the bumper if you have a 92-94. I wouldnt mind removing the crash bar to make room for more power.

i have a 99 i think the 99 front bumper is is lower than the 92-92 right? plus i have a lip so it might not show

i'm running a 24x12x3 if you wanna look at my setup you can check it out at a meet, or if you look for my 1jz swap thread i got pics of the setup, i know you can go larger than 24x12x3 though especially if the crash bar is removed

oh also forgot, you will need to relocate the coolant expansion tank as the ic will hit it

i'm running 12x24x4, and i kept the crash bar, I have a 92 bumper. it sticks out of the bottom, but if you have an SC400 lip, it looks great. I cut out the middle of the bumper (fins) so all you see is the intercooler.

Im running a 24x12x4 core and have the front crash bar in place. It doesnt show below the bumper either. There is plenty of room to move the intercooler up to make it not stick out.

I'm running an HKS 4 row with the stock bumper, and everything intact.

link no work for me as for these greddy and hks intercoolers 1.4-2k thats more than my turbo kit are they really worth the money? btw nice cars drew what front bumper is that? love your car lexusftw super clean

just thought the bigger the intercooler the better cooling? plus im not going to get a vertex front bumper so the lines of the 97+ front bumper will restrict it a bit. i guess better safe then sorry? dont want to run into problems down the line which would require me to get a bigger one i have a 61 trim turbo and a rb20 intercooler its not to big the one i had before was bigger(the one that came with the kit) so im thinking of selling it and buying the best so no more intercooler problems

Same size as LexusFTW here, doesn't stick out below the bumper at all. I have no front crash bar and we made a custom mounting bar for it to hold it up a little higher in the front of the car.

Yeah that's not correct at all. You I/C should be sized to your application and a 61 trim anything isn't going to require a massive I/C. If you want better cooling, focus on the the design and quality, like bar and plave vs. tube and fin. There are people running turbos out there you wouldn't believe with 3" piping and less and a I/C you thought wouldn't be adequate, with great cooling, no flow problems. Thinking "bigger is better" with turbo setups isn't the way to go at all. (I'm going to get flamed for that big time ) But seriously everything is about flow and matching it to your application. The pressure drop from the massive I/C before it gets to your throttle body is going to be substantial with your line of thinking. If you are extremely worried about cooling, as you should be, a much better route to take imho would be meth injection or water injection. You could get a decently sized I/C, with good design and quality, and a meth kit for half the cost of some massive HKS front mount. You would have seriously lower temps with the meth injection, and you would experience less lag as the area that the compressed air has to spread out, condense, and then compress again before the cold side piping is much smaller.
